Special Thanks Over 25 Years

From our family to so many who have made the last twenty-five years truly memorable:

Tom and Mike Osborne – The family who gave Taylor Martinez (my oldest son and Corn Fed® IP owner) the exposure to attend the University of Nebraska and build a Hall of Fame career. Legendary coach, amazing dad, and an incredible family. Mike, a loyal and supportive friend.

Dave Wilson – Close family friend and owner of Wilson Automotive, the third-largest private auto dealer in the U.S. A humble native Iowan with an incredible wife, Holly, and amazing children. Thank you for your support with family, business, and life in general. Our family can’t be any more grateful. I respect you like a second dad.

Dan Whitney “Larry the Cable Guy” – A true family friend. Brilliant, well-rounded, hilarious, and one of the kindest dads and people you’ll ever meet. Going on 16 years of friendship since Taylor’s playing days at Nebraska. Thank you for being a rock and sharing advice outside of the usual sports and business. You’re so humble, it took 10 years to realize how much you’ve accomplished and how intellectual you are.

Tim Daniel – Close and trusted friend, college roommate, and partner in early ventures nearly forty years ago. Together we worked out of a small, unfinished gym attic for free, with no heat or air, or your studio apartment with nearly the same features—fueled by Whoppers and Top Ramen in 1993–95. What started as a simple black-and-white eight-page school paper became a national four-color magazine on newsstands across America. That magazine led to the Corn Fed® story—and ultimately, the brand itself.

Toby Bost – Former CEO of La Jolla Group (O’Neill, Lost, Rusty, Metal Mulisha). In 2005, Toby became the first apparel executive to believe we had something special. His team nearly acquired Corn Fed®, but more importantly, he pushed us to secure CornFed.com. Over 20 years later, that advice still anchors us. Thank you for the encouragement and continued support.

Ken McCauley – Former President of the National Corn Growers Association. Years of steady support, always just a call or text away.

Scott Stump – FFA CEO. A genuine, down-to-earth leader with deep love for his organization and the people it serves. Thank you for your generous time and the handful of Zoom calls and emails. There’s one comment that you made that resonated and truly inspired this relaunch. We’ll always stay in touch!

Jennifer Sirangelo – Former 4-H CEO. A visionary who lifted the largest youth organization in the world while staying grounded—always willing to take calls and emails, even while juggling life’s busyness. You were so generous with your time, and the way you spoke of FFA is a true testament to your character.

Don Hutchen – Retired Executive Director of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association (27 years). Thank you for the hospitality, support, and friendship across business and ball games. You have an amazing family, and our family appreciates how well you took us in.

Iowa Corn Promotion Board – Too many to list, but an incredible group with a true love for their mission. Thank you for believing in us during our early years.

Shannon Brown – Country music artist, native Iowan, and amazing mom. Her “Corn Fed” song hit the Top 50, and she performed it before tens of thousands at Farm Aid. Her husband, Shaun Silva, is a world-renowned music video producer and great dad.

Tracey Sailors – Shopify’s original expert and store owner, always generous with advice. Another native Iowan.

Dan Alarik – Original CEO of Grunt Style. A visionary who created one of the most explosive patriotic brands in America. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Jack Martinez – Cousin and one of the most creative people you could ever meet, just like his mom, Aunt Claudette. Founder of Black Flys. I couldn’t be more proud of the company you built and all your advice.

Mike (Hillbilly Wear) – Colleague, and thank you for the calls and texts—both of us trying to defend unauthorized trademark use at times over the years. We’ve got you.

Dwight Dunn – One of Hurley’s first and most dedicated employees. Always willing to share resources, support, and wisdom. Everyone has nothing but great things to say about you.

Dianna Garreau Designs – Family friend and original Corn Fed® art partner with a golden heart. Fighting the battle of a lifetime—you will prevail. You are not alone.

Harvey Kantar & Mark Torre – CEO and VP of Marketing of DXL, the world’s largest Big & Tall retailer. Thank you for giving us our first shot in the big and tall sector. Your immediate responses, support, and professionalism have meant the world.

Boot Barn – One of the first retailers to take a chance on Corn Fed® heading into the Great Recession. Fifteen years later, we’re still here and stronger than ever. Thank you!

Scheels – The first major Nebraska retailer to carry Corn Fed®. We are grateful—and you’ve always been among the nicest buyers to work with.

Iowa & Nebraska International Airports – Thank you for giving us our first opportunity to sell Corn Fed® in airports.

Universities – The University of Nebraska, University of Iowa, and Iowa State University, for providing some of our earliest licensing opportunities.

Iowa Corn 250 Inaugural Race – Our first IndyCar event, where nearly every shirt sold out.

Simon Purll – From part-time designer in the early days to now leading Corn Fed® operations and direction. Simon and his team bring professionalism, detail, and a deep knowledge of the outdoor lifestyle apparel industry. Easygoing yet focused—you’ve got this.

And to so many more—family, friends, fans, customers, buyers, and company executives. Thank you not only to those who carried Corn Fed®, but also to those who didn’t. You pushed us to work harder, innovate, and keep improving. We aren’t perfect, but we stand for something.

Our Motto

“Dreams come true when you work hard and pray.”
– Martinez, 2003

This simple quote carried us while I was a single dad facing financial and emotional hardship. I first wrote it down and taped it to Taylor’s bedroom door when he was 13, so he and his brothers would see it each time they walked in or out. It became a daily inspiration. Years later, and five more children later—totaling eight—along with my beautiful and kind wife, we’ve built something special as a family.

Our Belief

Work Hard ★ Live Simple
Corn Fed®

As a family, we believe destiny is shaped by effort. Success comes from doing what others will not. That’s the fine line between average and great: working harder, longer, and never fearing success.

You will get out of life exactly what you put into it. Endure, endure, endure. Never give up. If you believe, you can achieve.

Go America!
